Building a roll top desk is not for the light harded.  It is hard work, but it can be done.  Right off the back I am not the one for building this kind of furniture.  I would rather go to a store and buy it if I really wanted it.  But, for those who are truely interested in building your own I wanted to give you a few resources that I found that would help you out.

First, I found a resource that documented the entire build.  He had an entire materials list, the time it would take to build in man hours and the tools needed to complete the entire job.  I thought it was a pretty good tutorial and I believe that it will provide you with a great introduction.

Here is the site: http://www.van-vliet.org/dempseywoodworking/rolltopdesk.shtml
